Travel insurence

Hi folks

How do I go about checking if my holiday insurance will be enough to cover me and my family

I get it via my Account with my bank and want to make sure it covers us all properly

You hear so many stories of insurance not being good enough abroad

we are going to Spain by the way

    Read the policy?

You should also ensure you all have EHICs.

There will be a policy book. Like this one:

    http://www.halifax.co.uk/bankaccounts/pdf/ultimate-reward-current-account-guide.pdf

Read it. Understand the limits and the exclusions.

See now this is the type of answer that stops folk from asking questions they need help for

Id rather have none than sarcasm

Im trying to say that a lot of these policies give you the impression you are covered
but when folk get abroad, they find out the are toally useless

Not being funny, but I'm not quite sure what you're looking for.

    Perhaps Defaqto ratings could help?

It was not sarcastic, you need to read the document and if you don't understand anything ask the insurer to clarify.

I didn't read that reply as being sarcastic. Only you know what you need to have covered as there is no "one size fits all". The only way to know if the policy you have covers what you need it to is to read it.

How should anyone else know if your policy is suitable? You have not said what you expect to be covered and no-one else knows what policy you have.

Look for the Key Features to see of the amounts are suitable then check the details for exclusions etc. (e.g. does it exclude any incidents caused by or influenced by alcohol when you expect to be covered after drinking alcohol, or are there particular sporting activities you need covering, or does it exclude particular pre-existing medical conditions)
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

But that is the correct answer even if you don't like it for some reason.
