It seems you've missed the fact that it's Tesco the OP will be contacting (to try and get back the £12 fees and also to try and prevent any markers being applied to their CRA file)...not Barclays who were supposed to action the payment.Except don't grovel, since it seems like it's not your fault.
So, bearing in mind Tesco don't have to do anything, I'd suggest grovelling would be a good approach!0
