Barclays have taken my money & not put me cc card bill through!!

Hi. newbie here and going crazy!

Went into barclays on the 2nd of july to pay my credit card bill of £45
Paid £30 cash and £15 on my card.
Yesterday i get two letters from my credit card company saying i have not payed my last bill so have a charge and a double payment to pay.

Checked my credit card letter from july and the silly cashier has not put my payment through and left the slip at the bottom of the letter! just stappling the reciept for £15 that they took from my card. So they have take the £30 cash and £15 off my card and and iv still got the bill which o thought id payed. So where has my money gone they took and how do i go about getting my money back?

gggrrrr so angry even more fustrating that its sunday and there not open. i dont do online banking.

    1. You ring Barclarcard, explain, grovel and offer to pay immediately over the phone. Ask them to refund any £12 late fees.

    2. You contact the branch and ask them to investigate the whereabouts of your missing £45.

    3. Next time you check your receipts properly before leaving the cashier.

Its not a barclay credit card its a tesco cc. I pay it in my bank.
I want to know what barclays have done with my £45 and how i go about getting it back?
I ask the cashier if its all payed and done the answer was yes.
Yes i should have checked when she handed it back to me but with her stappling the reciept to the letter i assumed it was payed! Surley they can look on cctv cameras to show i was in there on that morning also there be up £45 at the end of the day. I dont see why i should have to pay a double bill when they didnt put my bill through but took my money for it.

Calm down. Go into Branch tomorrow and calmly tell them about the problem. They will sort something for you one way or they other.

Fine. Ring Tesco and do the same as advised in point 1 above.

The branch will almost certainly have a cash error outstanding.

If so, they'll be pleased to put it right once you've advised them.

Except don't grovel, since it seems like it's not your fault. Yes, they will almost certainly have an imbalance.
