Yeah we're in the same position, application was sent in 16/07/2014 and valuation completed on the 18/07 and we're still waiting for some news :(

Thanks for the message. Funny how your valuation was completed so quickly and we are still waiting to hear... Hoping it won't be too much longer as wanting to move quickly.

Have you applied through a broker?

Yeah we've gone through a broker. We were told we'd hear something early this week so I'm hoping tomorrow we'll have some news. Hope you don't have too long to wait.

Thank you very much. Hope you receive some news soon, I am sure you will do.

  • I know that I am an impatient person...

Application was keyed last Monday (28/7).

Our credit file (Experian) shows a search on 17/7 'Mortgage quotation' by Lloyds Banking Group (this was for our DIP with Halifax).

We have since heard nothing and assuming that our broker has not either.

Hoping the valuation gets booked in this week... Getting anxious now!

Do things tend to move quite quickly once the valuation takes place?

    Thanks in advance

Thanks. We've now been told it's going to be four more days before they look at it so probably won't hear until next week now :(

Oh no, sorry to hear that. That's so frustrating.

We were hoping for an update today... We have heard nothing since our application was submitted last Monday! We thought we would at least have the valuation booked in now...

  • We hadn't heard from our broker in over a week and so decided to call Halifax direct to get an update on our mortgage.

After our broker told us he had submitted our application on 28/7, it turned out that Halifax had not received anything from him. No application made, no wonder we were getting impatient...

I expect he was going to make the application later this week and tell us that Halifax are experiencing delays in their underwriting.

So, we have today told the broker to politely 'do one' and have an appointment in-branch tomorrow.

I know that there are some fantastic mortgage brokers out there. Unfortunately, we were not dealing with one of them!
