Halifax mortgage turnaround

Hi everyone,
We have now submitted everything to our broker for a Halifax mortgage. We are FTB and using the HTB scheme.
My partner is self employed and so we had to wait for a form to arrive from HMRC, all sorted now though :-)
I expect that our application will be keyed tomorrow (Monday) and all supporting documents will be uploaded. We are wondering how long the application process is likely to take? Hoping for a quick turn around as always.
We have given payment details to our broker for the £355 valuation fee.
Any information is greatly appreciated!
Thanks x

This is a question that cannot be easily answered.
Halifax are normally pretty prompt, but any case has the capability to be held up and 'caught' in the system.
Your best approach is to be patient, and if your offer comes through particularly quickly so much the better.
If your broker asks you for any other information, provide it as soon as possible in exactly the format requested.I am a Mortgage Broker

We are using them. My husband is self employed too, they asked for a business bank statement or accountants letter as well as his sa302s as proof that he is still trading. So far - application submitted and all documents 18/7, surveyor / valuer contacted to arrange valuation 23/7, valuation arranged for 28/7, so all moving staidly at the moment.0

Thank you Neese, that's good to hear. Hoping our valuation is instructed just as quickly :-)Nervous first time buyer!0 -

We normally see our Halifax applications go from submission to offer in about a week.
However, we do very little 95% business and submit all documents required on day of application submission.I am a mortgage broker.
