Tarting up a battered internal door - any suggestions?

I have a BTL property which I intend selling in a couple of years. At that time I expect to spend quite a bit on making good and doing up.
In the meantime, I need amongst other things to deal with one of the internal doors which has received some rough treatment in the past.
It's a modern, sapele veneer hollow door and one side of it looks as though someone has taken a hammer to it - half a dozen very large bashes/depressions, each about 3 or 4 inches across.
Rather than replace the whole door now, can anyone suggest some way of hiding this damage as a 'holding operation' until my pre-sale re-vamp of the property?
Very grateful for any suggestions.

Car body filler and a paint job?
(This worked when my dear husband decided to chop the bottom off ours wonkily, just after I'd told him to do anything else that day, except the door).
I haven't googled your door type though.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

It's just a lightweight, hollow, wood-effect internal door. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=sapele+wood+veneer+internal&espv=2&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=3O3TU9WcNcqs0QXks4GoCA&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAg&biw=1024&bih=653#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=R7urQ2Pn8fh_5M%253A%3BqfuNiXYIzLGfyM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.doorsonlineuk.co.uk%252Flibrary%252Fproducts%252Flarge%252F260_a_sapele_flush_veneer_door.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.doorsonlineuk.co.uk%252Fstore%252Finternal-doors%252F260-sapele-real-wood%252F%3B355%3B841
The surface is shiny and any filler would just fall out.
I was thinking more of covering the depressions. There is no need to produce 'invisible mending'. Maybe stick-on mirror tiles or suchlike..?0 -

I'd just replace the door! Forty quid and you save yourself a lot of faffing about and ending up with a bodge job. Do it once and do it right!0

Cronkmeister is right. Its non-repairable. You can get them for less than £30. Anything you do will cost more than that and look like an explosion in a timber yard. Remember its tax deductible.
Its not worth fafting around.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -

You could cover it with hardboard . An 8'x4' 3mm thick piece will cost about £7 + the contact adhesive. Then ar*e around with the fitting.
I agree with those above that it's better to fit a new door.Forgotten but not gone.0
