Can you not ask them to transfer money to your bank account from your credit card at the same transfer rate and same 0% period? Then you pay off your Barclaycard with your current account.

Thanks, yes, that was offered, but for some of us who have debts, a transfer into a current account is not viable.

The advice is good, thanks Yorkshireboy, however, for me I wanted a straightforward balance transfer that I've done on may other occasions from card-to-card, & very easy.

Just thought i'd make people aware that PO card don't offer direct balance transfers to B'card. :)

    /yep, Stoozers, oops.

I did notice, and that's why I felt a degree of criticism wouldn't go amiss - anyway, judging by the average of less than 1 post per year we probably won't see the OP back again for a while .

Hehe - I've upped my average posting rate

Update - PO / Bank Of Ireland group Customer Services tell me that a transfer into a nominated bank account is no longer available :(
I say about the General Terms & Conditions (Thanks Yorkshireboy), then get told, 'Ahh, sorry, we no longer offer that, it was only short term and was offered because of problems doing balalnce transfers'
So I reply, why are your T&C's wrong then? (they are dated 1st April 2014).
I'm getting a call back tomorrow.

    We'll see where this goes..........

I managed to transfer £2950 into my bank account for the princely sum of £20.65 about a month ago.

I spoke to the PO representative who said to apply online but leave any balance transfer request blank, then ring up a few days later when the card was confirmed and do the transfer over the phone, no problems whatsoever.

Thanks. I was told they've only just pulled the plug on this, however I'm still waiting for the call & I may quote you as an example if thats ok?
