    Two issues:

Stopping the payments is easy: simply tell your bank not to give them any more money. However, the 'agency' will argue that you still owe them the money and so have to pay it by a different methods, and could issue court proceedings against you. They will only do so if they think that you have the money to pay, so a first step would be to plead poverty.

If the case were to come to court it would be under the 'small claims' track, where the judge uses common sense to settle disputes rather than the technicalities of the law. Two issues that would be relevant: were you tricked into agreeing to pay five hundred pounds for some photographs? Were you led to believe that this would lead to modelling commissions when in fact it was just a one-off order? If so, the judge might rule that the contract was void. A second issue is that of value-for-money: the judge might rule that the fee was not reasonable for the service provided, and reduce the amount you have to pay to a figure that is fair to both sides.

    Very, very harsh!

Presumably these companies prey on 18/19 year old girls/boys who have never encountered high pressure selling before.

Many teenagers have spent their entire school career upto the age of 18 being told to respect adults (e.g. their parents and teachers), and to do what adults tell them. So when an adult 'tells' them to sign a contract, they find it hard to disobey them.

So maybe direct your venom at the immoral salespeople, not the people bullied into signing.

Well I do direct my venom at these parasitic immoral companies preying on the gullibility of vain people.

Regardless of age, if somebody is so lacking in suspicion at being asked for large sums of money for so-called representation, then they shouldn't be let out alone!

The same naievity infects older people too, such as those who send 'release funds' to Nigerian scammers.

These parasites only exist because so many young people are self obsessed, and don't believe in conventional work. Many young people have their heads in the clouds, imagining themselves to be heading for stellar careers as pop stars, actors, footballers or other such pie in the sky nonsense.

    Hello,

My brother and father we recently a victim of Neon Models/London Fashion Studios. I am currently in the process of reporting both so called companies to the Police and my solicitors.

Does anyone have the full names if anyone within the companies? Would anyone be willing to come forward as victims/witnesses if and when this case progresses.

Please edit your post to remove your private email this is not only unwise but against MSE policy and if a moderator sees it your post is likely to be deleted.

It is highly unlikely that their behaviour was criminal and so the police are unlikely to get involved, although of course if your solicitor advises differently then follow that advice.

    Hi there,

My name is Vickie and I'm currently working on a TV project about scams.

I'd really like to speak to anyone who's had any experience with Neon Models/Krypton Studios.

All conversations will be 100% confidential.

    Many thanks,

    Vickie

You need to get permission from MSE to ask this.
  • This so called modelling company is a SCAM 5 different payments to 4 different companies and then a direct payment to the new director HAMADA SALAH account.... No delivery of the promised goods and no one answering phones to complain against. About to start court proceedings but now difficult to pin point on one company, company names used The Fashion Room, New Face models, Blue Box Studios, Snowfire Ltd, Modelling pics LTD, PP Modelling, Krypton Studios and London Photography..... BE AWARE OF ANY OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED NAMES AND COMPANIES....!!!
