I think it would be worth spending some money on a solicitor. I imagine they could tell you fairly quicky if there was an issue or may be able to put your mind at rest. Hopefully it wouldn't be prohibitive to find out.
If you can't afford legal advice then a trip to the cab might be in order and they could possibly point you in the direction of a local law centre that might be able to assist.

The house was bought in my name and here is my issue, i think something was added to it by the solicitor along the lines of after the initial 20k it was split between us.
the agreement i wrote was basically - by cashing these 2 cheques you accept it is in full and final settlement and to have no further financial entitlement in the future.
Basically my question is, does she still have a right to any money from the sale of the house if somethng has been recorded on the deeds 12 years ago?
You need legal advice from someone who can see the two documents.0 -
i understand the other side of the coin but i just dont want personal stuff being added. i did ask nicely not to become personal
Then don't add that personal stuff in your post if it is not relevant. The way I read it is she wasn't contributing because she wasn't employed however as a SAHM she was contributing just not financially.0 -
