what a shame about your watch, its rotten when something like that happens,no wonder your upset.

I spent half an hour at the shops and got what I needed .then bottomed out my bedroom which was so dusty:o.Sparkling clean and smelling of lemon verbena furniture polish now though.Boy was I like a wet blanket time I had finished it though I must be barmy on a steaming hot day humping furniture around .No fool like an old fool :p A long cool shower made me feel a lot better though. This afternoon I have made a creme caramel to go into the fridge for pudding and dinner wwill be tuna and sweetcorn with a large salad, far too hot to be cooking anything.Very humid and sticky at the moment :( maybe we might get a bit of a shower to cool things down a bit.
Hope you all have had a good day and not been like me and done far too much.I am now going to sit down and put my feet up and maybe even have a short 'Nanna nap' as my DGS call it .15 minutes and I will be up and motivated again :):):)
    Cheers chums

It has been a busy day today and I am now feeling utterly exhausted. I'm pleased today was productive but wish it didn't zap all energy out of me :(

Anyway I made a leek and onion soup for lunch served with a bacon and tomato twist loaf. The bread was amazing - had never made it before but it turned out really well and the brood enjoyed it. I was good and just had a nibble, sticking with just the soup but it was one of them where I had to see if it tasted ok before serving :o:D I also made a coleslaw which I had with tonight's salad. Very easy to make and much much nicer than shop bought yet it's not something I've even thought about doing before.

Ages ago I bought a savoury scone mix from Approved Foods - a huge bag for something like a £1 but they didn't like the scones so I figured I would end up chucking the bag. Recently though, I read on here that you could use a scone mix as a pizza base and as Saturday night is pizza night, that's what I did today. Thankfully they all enjoyed their pizzas so now that won't go to waste :)

Sheets were stripped, washed and changed today. The last of them are on the line now. OH ran the vacuum round the house and the junk drawer in the kitchen was sorted and decluttered.

I was meant to today our bedroom today but don't have the energy for it now. It's not too bad, all dirty clothes have gone to the machine but it could do with a straighten and polish. I will leave it until tomorrow now though.

    Hi everyone
Out with the caravan, currently at Himley Hall just outside Dudley on a rally.
The rally is very good, good group of folk, tonight we have a "Black Country Dialect" quiz. Which should be good for a couple of Yorkshire folk, though my maternal grandparents did originate from here.
Molly, Hilly, LW think of you and anyone else not up to par. take care everyone. DG

DG before you go back home, try and make a special journey to the Crooked House.

Address: Coppice Mill Lane, Himley Road, Himley, Staffordshire DY3 4DA

You will be in for a treat. Ever watched marbles roll uphill? Well neither had I until I went there. If you don't feel drunk when you go in, you certainly do when you come out.

A true Black Country pub.:rotfl:I spent a lot of my courting days there.

Grandsons party went well. Youngest had only had an hours sleep since yesterday morning and fell asleep sitting up indoors.

Nanny and Grandad (me and hubby) took charge of the little darling whilst Mummy and Daddy were playing host and hostess.

We came home early though cause hubby was struggling with his hay fever.

I'm hoping we will both sleep better tonight.

Glasses... I look at them as face adornments. Face jewellery if you like. Since a child ive always wanted to wear them but only really need them for reading.

I could spend hours in an opticians browsing.
I've needed specs since I was 5 years old, and hate wearing them!:D I used to try and manage without when I was at secondary school, which is likely why my eyes are so bad now. I had contact lenses for a number of years, but went back to specs because I couldn't afford the cost of the contacts; now of course, my hands are too bad to cope with putting in and removing contacts.
LW, I hope you are not getting too stressed & have some furry lodgers to keep you busy.
Thanks; we have Button the Cockapoo here til tomorrow; then a couple of days dogless; then Jasper the Cocker Spaniel will be arriving on July 30th.
If I'm honest, the anxiety is having a bad effect on my health; and trying to hide it from Mr LW so that he doesn't get any more anxious than need be is really hard.

GWS wishes and healing vibes for Molly.

................. when the watch strap went again, and fell off my wrist, face down on the concrete – the strap now had come undone from the face on both sides and the glass in the watch is cracked and broken – I managed to pick up the face and strap but I’m so upset, I got back to the car and cried, it obviously can’t be mended, as the pins that join the strap and face together are the only size that fit – and they are not holding it securely. ....................

So sorry to hear about this, nmlc. I know you said that you don't want to go back to them again about it just yet, and will wait a while, but .................. have you at least let them know that this has happened again and that the watch is now damaged as a result of their 'bad repair'? If you do intend to ask for another repair/claim some kind of recompense, you really should tell them that it's been damaged. Good luck with getting it sorted - it obviously means a great deal to you comforting.gif.

Yesterday's 'Afternoon Tea' was quite a success as regards the company, but couldn't help feeling that, had we paid full-price, I'd have been rather disappointed in the actual 'tea' :(. Presentation wasn't brilliant - sandwiches arrived - prettily arranged on a 3-tier cake stand (though they didn't have one of my choices :(). While we were admiring the sandwich selection, we noticed that the 'caramelised red onion and cheese for 2 people' weren't on the stand. When waitress arrived back a couple of minutes later with our cakes (which arrived in baskets lined with paper serviettes) we informed her about the missing sandwiches, she then disappeared and came back with them on a separate plate. At this point we had a table overloaded with sandwiches but no tea had yet been brought .............. :(. Decided to 'give them chance' but we'd finished the sandwiches and there was STILL no signs of any drinks being brought ................ :undecided:. So we had to ask for our tea/coffee :(.

Would have been so much better if they'd just served the sandwiches along with tea/coffee - then perhaps cleared away when we'd finished them and then brought the cakes and offered fresh tea/coffee top-ups. There were two 2-person teapots between three people who wanted tea - no chance of 'topping up a couple of times' and three mugs of coffee for the three who wanted coffee ................... wonder if this is 'standard' for people who come with 'voucher deals'. Also felt as though the cakes could have been 'nicer' .................... 'powdery' meringues, tasteless/dry scones, too much melting, chocolate cake and rather dry Victoria Sponge. Will be going on their website to offer feedback - will have to think hard for something to compliment them on.

Felt 'carb-full' until 8.00pm then had a bag of cheese and onion crisps :rotfl:.

Was in bed by 9.00pm - tired and bored rigid by last night's TV - then my Kindle battery went 'ping' so drifted off to sleep :(.

I'm a right 'moaning minnie' - Lilyplonk xx
