    Morning all,

Judi - Enjoy the party :)

It's gonna be a hot one today, I am already too hot!

Off to Aldi in a short while, don't need much as we go away on Wednesday. Must not forget loo rolls though as we are on our last one.

Had a lovely evening yesterday with some of DH's family. It was nice to be treated to a meal out :)
Sod's law though, DD phoned while I was out and I don't seem to get to speak to my older two kids very often. She said she'd call back on Sunday evening, so she is obviously working this weekend.

DH is off to football this afternoon and I have plenty to be getting on with.

Have a good day all :)
  • Good Morning everyone, it's hot already but with a breeze to make it bearable. Very industrious household aready this morning, housework done, DDs car washed and DSIL split some logs for the logpile but managed to work up a huge blister in the process poor lad. Ezra and I have done lots of 'walking on the lawn' 'talking to the apple trees' and 'visiting the polytunnel' he's such a sunny little lad. He slept through from midnight to 6 am this morning too so his parents had the best night they've had since having him in January, brilliant stuff!!!

Today we're going to take him on the little river ferry across to the village opposite for lunch and this evening I'm going to raid the freezer for babrecue food and we'll eat when the temperatures fall a bit at dusk. They let me babysit him last night and all went to the local pub for a drink and some time out and bless him, he slept the entire time they were out, he's a poppet.

Hope all the poorlies are OK in this uncomfortable weather, whatever you're doing today, enjoy, Lyn xxx.

Nmlc - how awful about your watch! Definitely go back to the jewellers who repaired it and complain again. Could it be that the strap is too tight and that is too much pressure for the pins? My mother always used to wear her watches quite loose, more like a bangle, so the straps never broke. (Hugs)

    Morning all,

A bit hazier today but still very warm.DS2 has gone to pick up the DGKids and is thinking of going to Lytham with them so we may follow him and enjoy some beach time,it would be a change,we hardly seem to get a day out these days somehow.Pooch has had her walk and is flat out,I've booked her in to be spayed next week, its going to be about £ 300 ,they need a lot of anesthetic!

Sorry about your watch nmlc :(

Not much cooking going on in this weather, bit of grilling meat with salad thats all.Lots of washing though :D

dandy candy-can sympathize, our garage is full after our move a month ago to our temp rented. We need to get rid of an awful lot of stuff before we move to our next home.Made a start though the huge American washer and dryer have been sold, one was picked up last night. Also a mattress topper for a double bed has found a new home with DS mate yesterday.I washed it and had it drying over the garden chairs for a couple of days first.

Right better get a wriggle on,enjoy your day x

...Was reasonably productive yesterday, but went to collect my watch from the jewellers, I’d taken it in last week, as the strap had come undone where it joins on to the face of the watch and needed repairing, they had done it the week before and the same fault occurred so they were going to check out if there was any damage to the fixings etc. They’d mended again (free of charge) and I was happy – it has a lot of sentimental value as DH bought it just before we had the boys and it was a completely surprise xmas present and had I been able to choose – it’s exactly what I would have chosen, I loved it as soon as I opened it. Anyway, I’d been to do the food shopping and was outside the SM returning my trolley, when the watch strap went again, and fell off my wrist, face down on the concrete – the strap now had come undone from the face on both sides and the glass in the watch is cracked and broken – I managed to pick up the face and strap but I’m so upset, I got back to the car and cried, it obviously can’t be mended, as the pins that join the strap and face together are the only size that fit – and they are not holding it securely. Hubby just said don’t get sentimental – just go and buy another one! Men! Will be looking about this morning to see what I can find....

I would take it back to the repairers, they obviously didn't do the job correctly and may well offer to replace it, fingers crossed.

    Hi all
Postman dropped a wedding invite on the doormat this morning, it should have been next July, it's been brought forward to Oct, in the hopes MIL will be able to make it. Wedding is in the Queens private chapel in Windsor. Reception is in a posh hotel in the middle of nowhere & as I can't drive at night & we aren't having a holiday this year we've booked 2 double rooms, one for us & one for MIL & SFIL. £100 a night each with breakfast. We can just about afford that as we will have paid for the car by then with my pension lump sum which is due soon.
I just hope no-one else decides to get married this year!
    Hugs Hester

    Afternoon all

Thanks for the best wishes regarding my watch. I was thinking I may take it back - but at the moment I now feel really cross with the jewellers - so won't be going back at the moment. Not entirely sure what I'm going to do, I can't decide, so will leave it a while and make a decision when I feel ready.

  • Good afternoon everyone :)

Late one from me as no internet this morning, then went to a car boot sale and for a mooch around a few charity shops. Have spoken to internet provider and they say we will have intermittent problems until 1st August, so I insisted on a partial refund for the month, which they agreed.

We have just had some rain but it seems hotter and muggier than ever, would love a good storm to clear the air. Anyway I bought GDD a paddling pool so it will probably pour down and be freezing for the rest of the summer holidays!

nmlc - am sorry about your watch, I hope you can get something sorted x

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super evening.

    Hi everyone
Out with the caravan, currently at Himley Hall just outside Dudley on a rally. Weather absolutely scorching, hiding under the shade of trees, as I have broken out in some form of allergy on my face and neck, driving me mad, only thing seems to be giving me short term relief is Sudacrem, I am taking Cetrazine, but does not appear to be touching it. Keeping off all my other tablets, as there is the thought they might be the case, but I think it is a case of wishful thinking. If it is no better tomorrow, and have another awful night, might have to go to the drop in centre.
The rally is very good, good group of folk, tonight we have a "Black Country Dialect" quiz. Which should be good for a couple of Yorkshire folk, though my maternal grandparents did originate from here.
Molly, Hilly, LW think of you and anyone else not up to par. take care everyone. DG
