<---that's what I looked like when I came out of the meeting!
It's nice to finally be able to tell friends and family and to stop worrying so much (not that we're quite there yet, but nearly).
Only a few weeks to wait hopefully and I will be a Mum! How crazy is that?
Congratulations, some friends of ours adopted a one year old baby girl in July, its wonderful xHOME

She is indeed gorgeous. We've actually seen her in the flesh, but she hasn't seen us yet. If anything, she's too cute.

Totally! Waking up knowing that the wait is nearly over (and I didn't have a driving lesson...) was wonderful!!
I imagine the stomach pains might return the day we're due to meet her though! Hopefully I can stay excited rather than nervous.Mortgage (Start Sep 2014)- £70,295/£0 - 100%

Back to the mundane! Last week OH re-sealed the bath and sink but we discovered the sealant was out of date and it all went to mush! So I had a horrible hour of scraping it all up and attempting to try again. Oh my. What a mess. It looks really bad! I used too much sealant so it splodged everywhere and the nozzle was too short so I couldn't get behind the taps. Oh well, at least it should keep the water out.
Plusnet have charged me for a new product I didn't take out (how can I be getting internet from them when I switched last month?!) so I phoned and the man claimed that I would be refunded "then the product would be cancelled". I argued that I never took a new product out in the first place. I shall be keeping an eye on my bank account. I heard of this happening where they then tried to charge a massive cancellation fee for the product the person never asked for.
I think I have the whole adoption leave/pay worked out in my head now. I'll assume I'm going back after a year, but say I want the enhanced pay on the day I return. Financially, it's better to get the money, make interest, and then pay it back, but the thought of getting money and having to give it back is too hard to bear! I'm also thinking that I can use my holidays for introductions and then start adoption leave once she's home.
I think my last full pay will be in 4 days. That's scary.Mortgage (Start Sep 2014)- £70,295/£0 - 100%

13 weeks. But I've never known anyone to be off on maternity and to return at the same workplace (we're contracted to work anywhere in the borough so they send us where we're needed). If it's anywhere else, I'll have to take buses and won't be back in time to pick up from school, even with after school club. Plus I have to work until 7pm some nights. We'll see though - you never know what might happen!Mortgage (Start Sep 2014)- £70,295/£0 - 100%
