I have better things to do that posting questions for which I wouldn't really want a solution to. But have a nice end of day, al25, and all the best.

All your answers are on this forum or just use the good old google, you'll be surprised how useful it is than asking friends and uncles.

I always use old google and ask whoever want to listen for potential solution to my problems (which are not many, fortunately). I would even ask god in some circumstances if I believed in him, but I do not believe there is a god.
Usually if I find a clear solution on google, I do not need to post.
Telling me not to ask my uncle when he is the one who will be dealing with the transfer at the other end sounds a bit odd to me.

All useful suggestions made by posters on this thread have been noted (thank you all) and will be looked into and acted upon when I am pretty sure of what I'm going to do, and yes, I have all the documents necessary.

I did say in my last post that I will go to Lloyds or Natwest, not to do anything else than opening another account, so I am following advices from the other posters, al25.

If I have had more useful answers from my bank, I wouldn't even have to ask anyone, probably.

You don't have to go to any of them, you can apply online in less than 5 minutes.

It could be easier for you if you did apply online as there is no chance of getting sidetracked with information that doesn't pertain to applying for a current account.
