Homemade biscuits cheaper than value?

Just on a note of cost. Once you have built up a store cupboard of ingredients. You have the things "in" anyway to make various things. Obviously you have to buy things in the first place, like a whole jar of ground ginger for 2 teaspoons or 1/2 teaspoon of bi-carb. But once you have then it dosn't cost anything next time around.
For instance I made Ginger Biscuits at the weekend and didn't need to buy anything extra.0 -
HI Folks
These biscuit are heaven but since I am watching my cals they are a bit calorie laden for me so with a bit of tinkering came up with this version.
Makes 20 biscuits @ 73cals each (don't know what ww points value would be)
100g wholemeal plain flour, doves farm
100g oats
50g soft brown sugar
4tbsp granulated splenda
50g margarine packet stork
50g GFY sunflower spread with omega 3's& 6's
1/2 Tbsp Golden syrup
10g bicarbonate
1/2 tbsp hot water
Method same as high cal version. I found a tsp into a round pastry cutter flattened makes a decent size crispy biscuit. May do some more tinkering but these ingredients were what I had in the cupboard so they maybe better with caster/granulated sug.
