I have been thinking the same thing and come to the conclusion that the difference, for me, goes beyond price and contents. As well as my son always helping and being able to tell me what goes into biscuits/bread etc,

I have a weight problem since having the children and I was eating far too much at night. Since I started making Twink's hobnobs (3 batches now) I've stopped with the night munchies. I have ONE biscuit and I'm satisfied. It's not just because oats are complex carbs. It's because I feel like I've had what I was craving - good taste, slight sugar rush, sustained full feeling. If I bought a packet of value biscuits, I could eat half a packet and not get that feeling because they just don't have what it takes!
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.

i will have to look for value butter, just so used to using stork for the biscuits
queenies biscuits would be different from the hobnobs and imagine you could sandwich them with jam or ice the tops and let the children put sprinkles on
The main reason I resort to them so often is the fact I can store the roll in the fridge (and freeze a spare) then simply slice off as few as we need at the time and cook them up fresh. That way, I don't have a biscuit barrel full of biscuits where everyone helps themselves each time they have a hot drink  It's easy to vary the basic flavours for the sake of variety.

By only slicing what is needed (rationing! ;) ) it's better on the pocket and the waistline.

My girls have given your biscuits a new name, they are called pixie biscuits. Because they are so light and airey they seem convienced the pixies/fairies have made them. Even though they actually do the mixing etc :rotfl: Thats a 3 and 4 year old imagination for you.

I actually got some weightwatchers scales yesterday so I plan to make a batch tonight and work out how many points each biscuit is - I'm hoping for 1 point (or even less:D ).

skipkoo calculated them at 1.5 each that using clover and getting 40 biscuits, i make mine smaller and got 55 yesterday, you dont really notice they are small because with the oats they take longer to eat than a plain biscuit

Thanks for that GR, I was just going to post that "NO! HM Bikkies are not cheaper coz they are so nice I eat them all faster then have to make more". :D

Not tried Twink's Hobnobs yet, I wonder if they would work with Splenda instead of sugar? Think I'll give it a go.
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

Now, I have the complete opposite problem to you Gingham. If I had a tin full of Value biscuits I wouldn't eat any -they just don't appeal to me at all. On the other hand, a tin full of hm biscuits is a sore temptation to me and I invariably eat the majority of them :o I suppose I could solve my biscuit problem by buying value ones for the kids, but I just cannot bring myself to a) part with good money for rubbish, and b) feed them to my kids.

I should stop baking so much, or get some serious will power ;)
