Had the OP said, "Me and my boyfriend want to put an offer on a house but they have said that we can't until my property has an accepted offer on it. HOWEVER, WE DO NOT NEED TO SELL TO PROCEED"

Me and my boyfriend want to put an offer on a house but they have said that we can't until my property has an accepted offer on it.
I'm pretty sure more useful answers would have ensued.
OP - it's like a computer - quality of data in = quality of data out.0 -

Of course they can make an offer. I can go and make an offer right now, that offer would then be subject to me going getting a mortgage accepted etc. but anyone can offer.0 -
We made an offer and had it accepted before we had even got a mortgage in place. Not sure what the EA's problem is.0

I have told them, they still won't pass on the offer.
And in answer to those saying I should have given all my financial details, my question actually was just about whether they are obliged to pass on my offer. anselld managed to give me a useful answer without asking me for more info so thank you anselld.
I am a bit annoyed by your answer, I think I and others directly answered you question.
Sometimes people try to be helpful by asking for more information as it's difficult to answer without.
Of course if you have the funds available you can offer, you need to make the EA aware you don't need to sell to proceed, I have bought several properties without a sale on my home as have many many other people.0 -
... and, the OP's attitude, if reflected in contact with the EA, is probably part of the reason the estate agent isn't going out of his way to help him! Lack of clarity, bit argumentative, bit difficult, hardly the ideal buyer...0

can OP send offer direct to the vendor?Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
I'm afraid no EA will treat your offer seriously until you are in a position to proceed.
Hope everything works out ok for you0
