Don't switch to save...

I have been with Wanadoo since MSE suggested it was a good deal from the outset of them offing the wireless "Livebox" and adapter long before the masses went WiFi. However we are currently paying around £23 pcm and I noticed more and more competitive offers plus we only had 1 Meg ADSL and now up to 8 is on offer. I rang Wanadoo (Now ORANGE) and I explained I was courteously put onto their special team who can authorize a special deal the aldy came on asking why I was unhappy with their service, to which I replied The service was great just out of date with todays pricing, I advised what was being offered else where To which she offered a free upgrade to "up to" 8 Meg at only £12.99 pcm and to top it off for being loyal free for the next 3 months. WooHoo! It was just too easy. Next stop BT to get that down too!:rotfl:

    So what? The original poster has already said they were happy with the service so I fail to see any problem with a tie in to a good service you are happy with.

    Or have I missed something?

    What happens if say, next month, the service rapidly goes down the tubes? (Its not too outlandish a thought, it happens) Then you're stuck with them for the remaining months.

    And since your post sounds a bit arsey. I would of thought most people phone up their retention dept to see if they can get a better deal before jumping ship? If im mistaken, then thanks to the OP for bringing it up.
  • Kiezen = To improve or save with little or no cost/effort

    Effort 1 x phone call.

    Cost = about 25p

    Improvement - up to 8 Meg ADSL connection with no restrictions and I'm very close to the exchange!

    Saving = 3 months @ £12.99 = £38.97
    9 months @ £10.01 = £90.09

    Total Saving = £129.06 pa
    Nuff SAID! :beer:
  • I switched because their service was crap. could not get connected. plenty of line errors. lack of customer service. I'm happy I'm with someone else.
  • Should have pushed Orange a bit harder ... I contacted them earlier this morning to cancel my contract (before I saw your posting) and she offered me an upgrade and only £9.99 for six months!

    Have you confirmed whether you are on a new contract?

    Do you realise that by accepting you have probably consented to a new contract, could be 12 months or more.
    Move along, nothing to see.
  • Despite Orange's 'generous' offer, I didn't accept it and went ahead and cancelled. MAC code was emailed within a couple of hours. I certainly don't want to be tied to them for another 12 months because, like many other people, I thought Freeserve was good, Wanadoo was okay, but Orange are certainly not good enough when there is so much competition around doing a better job.
