  • There is a newer model but the 520 looks good against the 530 (particularly the built in memory) and the 520 is available now.

The existing SIM may enable a cheaper upgrade (payg upgrade).

Nokia 920 I think is 12.50 a month on Tesco. Not the newest phone but was top of the range 2 years ago and is probably better than the cheaper new nokias

I do internet supermarket shopping every week on my computer, but there is no way I would even attempt it on a phone,
if she wants to do shopping, she will need at least a tablet so that she can work her way around the website

Also, to do internet shopping she is going to have to be confident about using a credit card online - will that be a step too far for her?

Elderly - I would suggest something with a big (5") screen, like the Galaxy Note. Expensive though.
  • I'm able to compare the Nokia 920 and 520 as I've used the 520 and have the 920.

The 920 is a considerably better phone but either bought outright (mine was £200 unlocked from Tesco) or particularly on a contract it is not appropriate given the requirements in the original post.

Shopping sites often adapt to the device as iPhone owners shopping while commuting is a key demographic for some stores.
