Driveway Abuse / Threatening behaviour

We have a driveway for 3 cars, off the main road, in a private road with a row of 10 houses, next to a school. We've had it used by parents of the school next to us which we were ok with except on some occasions when they throw away litter.
Recently its been used by few other people which we normally dont mind unless we are short of space (we have 2 cars) or if they cause any issues. But since they normally use when we are at work, hasnt been an issue.
Today my wife was at home and she had come out to clear out the weeds in the driveway - a car was parked in with a guy laid back in the driver seat and a girl next to him. My wife had asked him to move his car so she could clean. He didn't seem interested at all and went on to ignore her.
I was on the phone with her at that time and I asked her to take a picture of the car. As soon as she started to do that, he became quite aggressive and yelling at her (I was still on the phone). Then kept on yelling and threatened to run the car over her. My wife said she would call the police after which he drifted his car away and almost came to hitting her and then moved couple of blocks away.
I have got the car registration, but not sure what action to take. If i see the car anywhere, I will stop him and give him a few words.
We are in the process of selling our home, in the market for 2 weeks and viewings happening. I am not sure if taking it to the police will have an impact on it selling? Neighbour's disputes need to be declared. Does this have to be as well?
But if I dont do that, people like them think they are just above the law and rest of us and keep doing what they do and go scott free, which I dont think is right.
Any advice appreciated.

This is not a neighbour dispute so no need to declare.
Whether you wish to reprt to police is up to you. either "too much hastle, they won't do much, we're moving anyway" or "Hate someone like that getting away with it, hope he gets a warning"
If you were staying, my advice would be a barrier of some type to stop people using your drive. In fact you might consider this anyway, since you don't want buyers coming round and seeing the drive filled with the school mums and prats like that one.......0 -

Thanks for your replies.
G_M, not sure how can I add a barrier. The entrance is shared by the 10 houses in our private road (has a private road sign board)

The red mark is our boundary and the yellow existing fences. I had thought about installing parking posts for each space but that seemed an overkill and maybe bought more unwanted attention to the house.0 -
I'd be out with a pot of paint and some templates, marking out the parking bays and putting the house number on all three.0

David, i would so much like to take it to the police, but its still essentially our word against theirs regarding the threat. The picture will only show he parked in our driveway. Will the police take this seriously?0

They should take the threatening behaviour seriously.
It depends on the person, it may make the person decide they have a 'problem' with you when they would otherwise have forgotten about it.
The police shouldnt do anything without your say so so it would be worth talking to them.0 -

I would expect them to take a report of threatening behaviour seriously, especially if they have sufficient detail to identify the suspect. Lots of police work involves cases which may never amount to more than one person's word against another.0 -
I reported threatening behaviour when someone blocked me in my drive. I gave a little honk on the horn and he got really aggressive. Followed him down the road after pulling off the drive and he was going around 30mph then SLAMMING his brakes on for me to go in the back of him. Then reversed as if to hit me all the while he's making throat slitting signs in his mirror at me. I honked so people at the bus stop would notice so they could be witness to this and he sped off. Rang police shaking and crying... I was worried of repercussions since he knew where I lived and they basically told me I was being silly and nothing would come of it... luckily nothing did but yea thanks police!!!0

Fence along the red boundary with a gate to your entance. Or padlocked bollard. Thanks for your replies.

I'd report it. What disgusting behaviour - I find it really concerning that this is the second post on here in the last couple of days where someone has been threatened/hit with a car because of a minor disagreement.0
