Can I issue a warning.
If you have applied for a loan on several different websites, be very careful that you did not use a loan broker. These will charge you a fee (and may already have done so) for a "loan finding" service.
OP, did you enter your debit card details into any sites?"Facism arrives as your friend. It will restore your honour, make you feel proud, protect your house, give you a job, clean up the neighbourhood, remind you of how great you once were, clear out the venal and the corrupt, remove anything you feel is unlike you... [it] doesn't walk in saying, "our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."0 -
I was facing a similar situation. My summer accommodation fell through at the very last minute and I'd already got an arrangement on that to pay after the Summer. So I called my landlord, the one for my permanent uni accommodation next term, and asked if she had anything that I could rent for the Summer. She did, but obviously wanted cash monies up front. Luckily it was only £300 and my mate helped me out.
Call your landlord tonight (presumeably it is a private landlord) and tell them that you are slightly short on the rent and that you can get £450 to them tomorrow but would they mind waiting for the remaining £150 until next week. I doubt they'll say no as you'll be giving them a huge chunk of the money and it'll take them more than a week to find someone else to move in.
They would not be allowed to tell your housemates if you are all taking out seperate tenancy agreements, but he may tell them if you are all entering it as a house share and there will be a shortfall that affects everyone0 -

Thats what I was alluding with my reply, the OP would end up with less money if it were the case.0 -
Don't deliberately go in to debt as a student, thats what f*cked me up (nearly £20k at its peak), for me it just started with a barclaycard credit back in 99 given to me free for opening a bank account. All too easy to go spending money that isn't yours, especially when all your mates are going out, having takeaways (that they couldn't afford either looking back) cinema etc. You don't want to be the 'miserable' one or have to stay in. I was too lazy to get a job back then - just wanted to sleep and drink, but looking back I should have got something part time (did do a milk round in the summer hols - was great fun!). If you're in a group perhaps arrange nights in, watch films on tinternet, gaming sessions etc and limit nights out to student nights when drinks are cheaper.
Took me nearly 10 years after graduating to clear.
Still, I had a right blast spending it all... its the years later you wished you hadn't!0
