Vodafone sneaky!
Options
I've just been on the phone to Vodafone for an hour (no exaggeration!)
So yesterday I wanted to add Sky Sports to my account (bearing in mind I already pay for Spotify) and I am a 4G customer. I was told that it should be free because of my price plan. Excellent! Went to add it and it said the bill of 4.99 per month would be added, what?!?!?! prompt a call to 191. I was told there seems to be a problem that only tech support can sort but they are closed and to call back tomorrow,. So I call at half 8 this morning and speak to a really helpful guy who after about 45 minutes of going round in circles and telling me that I am actually getting Spotify for free so can't have Sky Sports for free too notices that there was a price plan change in February!
My original plan was:
Unlimited minutes
Unlimited texts
2GB data (a few days after I took the contract out that was automatically increased by 4GB)
Galaxy S4 with no upfront cost
Spotify free for 6 months
£30 (incl. VAT and minus my loyalty discount)
My Spotify trial expired in February this year so I called up and asked for it to be added for the obligatory additional £5 per month. I was told yep they can do that. And also, for being a loyal customer I would get and additional 2GB data with my Spotify, fan-bloody-tastic!!! 8GB for £35/month!
I then wanted Sky Sports as of yesterday so I asked if this could be done and they got confused thinking I was asking for Spotify and Sky Sports for free. I was like, "no, I already pay for Spotify" and they were like "oh right, Sky Sports is free then"
Well after discovering there was a change in my plan in February it all made sense. Instead of adding Spotify to my account as I'd requested. The sales guy changed my price plan!!!
New price plan:
Unlimited mins
Unlimited texts
4GB data (with additional 4GB promotion)
Spotify
£35.83 (+ VAT and without discounts!)
Oh yeah! And my price plan extended to November 2015 instead of August!!!!
All Voda were going to do was discount me the £4.99 for Sky Sports. I was like no! I want more than that.
This is surely grounds to cancel without penalty???

This is surely grounds for demanding everything changed to the original state and overpaid money (if any) refunded.0

This is what I was thinking mate, but the guy on the phone said that if they do that I will lose the original 4GB they gave me automatically at the original start back in August last year0 -
VF is a Sh*t network and i had problems from day 1.
Demand for a refund and cancel as soon as you canWhat happens if you push this button?0 -
I've emailed them with the MSE ref in the subject so should hopefully get a response from Lee. The ref from Vodafone is #75153230

He is trying it on. They have 2 options. They can either put you back to the exact position (including any offers/discounts) before they mis-sold/upgraded without consent OR they can allow you to cancel completely without penalty. Anything else you can take to the ombudsman and they will lose. Given that you now know what a bunch of lying pigs they are i would suggest you go for the cancel option.0 -
They really are !!!!!!! I have just had an email from them saying that I am receiving Spotify for free. Comlletely ignoring the fact that I added Spotify but the sales person increased my price plan pre VAT to one that includes Spotify for free0

All the phone networks are like walking through quicksand when you ring them up. The tariffs change all the time and they refuse to revert you back to how things were. Same thing happened to me with O2 yesterday. I reduced my tariff online and then rang them an hour later to say I think I've scaled it back too much and would like to give them more money per month for more data. They essentially started my contract over again to go back to how it was, so my 12 months have to start again. It's only a sim-only plan, they didn't even supply a phone, so I don't know why they were making it so difficult for me.
They also said, by doing that, I have just forfeited my one tariff change permitted per contract period (12 months)0 -
The thing is, I never asked them to change my tariff. Their entertainment packs are opt in and out whenever you want. But now, there's absolutely no point in cancelling Spotify if I need to save a bit of money because I'll still be paying for it. One of the big things that is peeing me off is that only one person attempted to help me, all the others can barely understand the issues I'm facing because English isn't their first language. I've done fighting them. I'm going to email Guy Lawrence, then cut my losses with them when my contract ends0
