My husband & I do exactly that - we have been flying long & short haul for the last 30 years so you can work out our age. We are smartly dressed, pleasant, polite & well spoken to everyone that works in the service industry (and everyone else we come across in life) yet it's only BA employees that seem to have the 'bad smell under their nose' attitude. We are probably equal in education, occupation & salary yet I would never dream of treating people in this way whilst doing my job or at any other time. It's the worst of British snobbishness - a hangover from the Empire.0 -
I'm sure every airline has its problems, but I've flown BA a number of times in the past few years and the biggest issue I've had was being somewhat over-cooled on the new A380 last year flying to LA.
Apparently it was roasting hot in Business so they obviously had some teething problems to iron out...
I've always found the service friendly and attentive (of all the other airlines I've experienced, only Emirates has been noticeably better). And compared to flying long-haul on some of the US airlines, they're — frankly — a world apart.
YMMV, of course, but I would certainly count BA as one of my preferred airlines.0 -
The conversation the next day from her mother would have been interesting.
" Have you got 10 days spare?,have you got a suitcase full of holiday clothes handy ?, have you got any US dollars? look out for a taxi pulling up outsde !:rotfl::rotfl:
That did happen to me , my wife told me I was going away for my 50th so to book leave. A taxi arrived and I was guessing where we were going, it wasn't till I arrived at the airport check in desk that I knew where we were going.0
