Barclaycard Cashback card is back! be careful though....

Called again today as I wasn't convinced by the person I spoke to - spoke to a further FOUR people today, all of whom seemed incapable of providing a straight answer. Eventually told the account had been opened, cards on their way and there was nothing they could do. Typical. Will cut the cards up and close the account as soon as I get them. Anyway, mind made up - no way they are getting my custom after this experience.

I think I am going to report them to the FSA as they seem incapable of providing accurate and basic information

I had the same thing copper plate, I still dont know what my cashback level is, despite numerous phone calls, again this wouldnt happen if people stood up a sa whole, please see my other thread...SAY NO TO COMPUTER SAYS NO!

I have just got one of the cashback cards and I got this response when I asked them to confirm that I had a cashback card, as it wasn't said anywhere on the letters they sent me, and what the cashback rate was.

"I wish to inform you that your account qualifies for a 2% Cashback on
Petrol/Supermarket and 0.5% on all other purchases."

So if I don't get these rates I will be complaining rather quickly!

I just called up to activate my card (came through today, only a couple of days after applying!) and was told the same, 2% on supermarket/petrol and 0.5% on other purchases - they're sending me some stuff in the post regarding cashback apparently so I will update once i've checked that...

Any idea if there's a list of participating supermarkets available? How do they know what is a supermarket and what isn't? Also is Tesco Express included?

I work for barclaycard (please don't frown like that! )and yes we do have offshore call centres mostly customer service roles afaik. One opened just a few weeks ago so maybe you got put through to there and things are still unsettled? You certainly wouldn't be passed around like that in our place, my boss would have a fit! Anyhow, I will clarify the cashback at work tomorrow (don't have details here) and anymore questions feel free. Not sure what the barclaycard site says, my connection keeps dropping and I can only access sites that firefox feels like accessing!

Barclaycard site (see link at top of this thread) says 2% cashback on supermarket and petrol and 0.5% on all other spending - the lady on the phone confirmed this for me so I shall be phoning up to complain if this turns out not to be the case when I get my first statement! Waiting for my PIN number to arrive now and then I can start using it!

I have just received my first bill and I can confirm that it is 2% for purchases in a supermarket and for petrol and 0.5% elsewhere. However, to confuse things on the statement they have one line for the 0.5% on all purchases and then another line for 1.5% on supermarkets and petrol. In the end it works out!

And it looks like they give you the 2% in Marks and Spencers, even if you don't buy food there as I bought a suit last month from there but still got 2% cashback on it.:D

I have a Barclaycard Platinum with the 10 months 0% on purchases promotion.

When I look at the online account management all my resent transactions have (promo) next to them. Is this related to the cashback promotion or does it mean something else?

There are no (promo) markings on my statement. The only thing that relates to the cashback on mine are two lines which are dated on the statement date that say "1.5% Ptrol/Supmkt Cashbck 1.5%% CASH REBATE THIS MONTH" and "0.5% Cashback Credit 0.5%% CASH REBATE THIS MONTH"

So I would guess the (promo) is due to your 0% on purchases?
