SSE won't take us on whilst we have this kind of meter nor will BG. NPOWER are supposed to be changing our meter but haven't yet and will not change our tariff until it's done. The problem is we have two MPAN numbers which Western Power Distribution has confirmed so SSE and BG have said stay where you are until you've had the meter changed so yes we are stuck!0

Get on Twitter and tweet to @npowerhelp - they got my billing sorted and ship shape and waived my outstanding balance after 14 months of hell.0 -
Hello,
we are in a similar situation - when registering, npower spokesperson promised to send us a letter with the information re tariffs etc. but that never came. To be fair, we also hadn't asked them again. Then we got a bill of around £1.1k for 11 months of usage. Is there a chance to dispute the bill and at least get part of it waived, based on the fact that we had no information given to us about the costs, other possible tariff options and so on?
Thanks0 -
They can only charge you a for a years worth of power / gas.
Move to a smaller supplier (like Flow energy), as the big ones are very expensive.Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0 -

In a word "no". This is your own fault! You should either have chased them up or looked around online for options. It's not hard to do. The voluntary back billing rule only applies to people that have chased their supplier for bills and where bills are more than a year outstanding. £100 per month isn't out of the ordinary either.0
