Lebara want Bank Details
Hi, we have a Lebara SIM card and we were contacted by "Lebara" stating their bank details have changed and we need to provide new payment details to a new name called "Adyen".
I searched online and it seems Adyen is legitimate and have some recent collaboration with Lebara, but this still seems like a scam. Can anyone confirm this is a scam or has anyone else with a Lebara SIM card been contacted in the same way? Thanks.

If someone was contacted in the same way, this doesn't mean that that it isn't a scam.
Are you using their 'Auto top up'? How were you contacted? How are you supposed to provide the details?
I can be wrong, but I don't see any reason for them needing your payment details after changing their payments provider.
Personally, I'd call them directly for an explanation. They have some cheap 020 number for calls from abroad.
That said, if you provide the details in your Lebara online account after logging in, I don't see any reason for getting worried.0 -
Never give your bank details or any other personal information to anyone who phones you up and asks for them.
This screams fraud/scam/identity theft/etc etc
It doesn't matter if they say they are Lebara, BT, Sky or whatever. Anyone can say that.
But how do they know you are with Lebara, BT, Sky or whatever? They don't. But some people they randomly phone up will be from one of these, and some of these will be foolish enough to give personal information to the fraudsters.
The more information they have, the easier it will be to fool you next time. They phone again in 2 months time when you have forgotten about the call from "Lebara" and pretend to be your bank. You might be more easily fooled by them because they have your bank details, and so they get you to give more information away.
This is how these criminals work.
If a genuine company needs information they write to you, and you can always phone your company using the phone number on their website, to check the letter is genuine.0 -
Thanks for the feedback. We do use 'Auto top up'. I'll do as you have suggested and contact Lebara directly regarding this.0
