Am I being ungrateful?

Last week I won a 'flash' competition on Facebook run by my local shopping centre. The prize was 10 cinema tickets for any Odeon cinema (Yay!)
When I picked them up on Saturday I noticed that they expire at the end of the month. This basically meant that I had 12 days to use 10 cinema tickets. Bear in mind that I work full time and usually get to the cinema 3 times a year.
Am I the only one who thinks it's ridiculous that prizes are being offered with such ridiculously short lifespans?
I visited my local Odeon cinema and they said that there was nothing they could do, but gave me the phone number of their head office. I called them and they said the same. I then contacted the head of the shopping centre, in order to complain, only to be told that the short date was the reason that they had offered them in a 'flash' competition in the first place.
Anyway, the head of the shopping centre is looking into what can be done. He offered me some vouchers for the shopping centre as an exchange, but I said that I rather liked the idea of having the cinema tickets. He's going to look into what he can do, and will get back to me by the end of the day. Hmmm...

Well, what about taking friends/family with you? You don't have to use all the tickets yourself do you?
Also, this isn't the right section for this question.0 -
I will PM a BG to have this moved to CCC

I understand the frustration at winning and then not being able to use the prize. I have tried to be as phlegmatic as I can when being notified of a win to avoid disappointment. I also try to think of those who are in a comping slump who would be glad for any win!! I think it's pretty good that they are prepared to offer you something else....good luck!Still cracking on....

Okay, I'm going to throw it out there that yes, you are being ungrateful. It is not as if the prize was for a "year's worth" or similar of tickets, which would imply that you should have a year to use them.
Perhaps they were thinking that you might, you know, take people with you to the cinema...?
I thought it was quite generous of them to offer shopping centre vouchers as an exchange. Thanks to all OPs and everyone who helps/posts etc!!:T0 -
I love being able to share prizes, it enhances the joy of winning, I'd have said thank you and distributed the tickets to friends
It was generous of them to offer the shopping centre vouchers and it was rather ungrateful of you to refuse them.

The challenge in winning is figuring out how best to use the prize0

I win lots of stuff I can't use or don't want. I give it way to friends /charity etc. If you can't use them, be altruistic. Good Karma works both waysWinnings to date (from Sep 2013) = £104000

Everybody is assuming that the OP [a] has friends has friends locally [c] has friends who are contactable at short notice who might wish to visit a cinema.0
