Is summer a good time for deals?

Hi

Im 6 weeks away from the end of my Orange contract and thinking where to go next

There is a Vodafone deal I fancy via CPW offering a Galaxy S3 at 60 quid with unlimited minutes, texts and 4GB of 4G for approx £35 per month including Spotify premium

As Im already a fan of Spotify I figure this is an automatic £10 discount on what I already pay giving me a lot more for less

The thing Im dithering about is that CPW are doing £100 trade ins on any piece of junk :) until the end of this month and I have an ancient HTC Hero in the man drawer which qualifies in their small print thus making this deal even better for me

The dilemma is that I can see summer is a time when no-one has any cash due to holidays and so the Vodafone Spotify promotion and CPW trade in bonus will be pulled in September when schools are back and Im officially out of contract

So upgrade now and swallow 6 weeks of my current contract or gamble and see whats available in September?

Comments welcome!

PS My current provider is being binned off on account of in contract "price hikes" so seeing what Orange retentions offer is not an option

Have you considered getting your existing phone unlocked and going SIM only?

The networks love customers who opt for a handset and SIM package on a 12 or 24 month deal... The reason being they make a lot of profit on these packages.

Beware that Vodafone have lousy 3G, let alone 4G, coverage in many places, here in rural East Yorkshire they only have 2G/Edge. Both EE and Three around here run 3G to 20 Mb/s. Don't change networks without checking the coverage.

    Bizarre

Ive been tracking the web for a few weeks and the deals on offer at various comparison websites differ on a day to day basis and also over the course of each individual working day from morning to afternoon

There seems to be no rhyme or reason, sometimes its the same all day, sometimes cheaper in the morning, afternoon or evening

Im genuinely confused as to what algorithm they use for pricing
