A new gripe.
I had an old dehumidifier to get rid of.
It was too heavy to carry even if they did take pedestrians at the tip and there wasn't enough metal in the thing for it to be picked up by the tat men.
So I bit the bullet and arranged a collection from my doorstep at £21.95.
Non-refundable.
I got a call to leave the thing out after 07:00 one Thursday which I did.
It didn't get taken.
I rang them up and spoke to someone who told me that the collection men had reported the item wasn't there for them to collect.
It clearly was, dammit!!
So I arranged a second collection attempt for the next Thursday.
I left it out on a Wednesday night as I went to work and when I returned late on Thursday morning it had gone. Yay!
However, I received a call today from the council who told my my job was still open.
That when the collection men had come to collect the item it wasn't there.
Now either the lady who called was reading the message from the previous collection attempt or this was a new message from the collection men.
If the former, then they are very slack about their record keeping, the job was done back in late November, if the latter, then someone else has half inched a busted dehumidifier and the council have my non - refundable £21.95 and have done nothing to earn it.
Either way, this is annoying.:huh: Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
