Motorcycle parking in cycle park

Hello!

I live in a apartment flat which has an underground secure parking for vehicles. I have a car and a motorbike.

I bought this flat 2 months ago, and the agent told me the motorbike parking is free. But now the maintenance company called me to say I will have to pay £60 monthly towards rent for parking space for the motorbike.

For car, I purchased a parking slot.

I park the motorbike in the area where cycles can be parked. Am I still liable to pay the rent?
I sent an email to the agent but he's hasn't replied for 2 weeks now, so looks like he's washing his hands off.

What other options available to me to save on the rent?

Many thanks for answers.

The only solution you will get is from the Agent, get on to them or the owner. (Just think how terrible they will be in a proper crisis if you can't get a simple answer out of them).

Take a photo of your tax disc, point out the taxation class and post it back to them.

I have no idea whether you will get away with it or not, but it will cost them a shedload of money and time getting a definitive legal answer (quite possibly more aggro than what it's worth to them).
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it

Have you got anything in writing to say the Agent told you it would be free parking for your motorbike ?

    This ^^

Motorcycles on the V5 document and tax disc will show the vehicle class as Bicycle. If there's free parking for Bicycles then might cost them too much time / money to dispute it.

Many thanks everyone for the replies.

As suggested, I checked my motorbike's tax disc, and the vehicle class is 'Bicycle'.

To answer the questions posed -
I have nothing in writing from the agent that motorbike parking is free. This was a mistake on my part not getting in writing. I asked three different person from the agency during three viewings and all said 'free' motorbike parking. But now, they do not want to reply to my email :)

Quiet Spark/Retrogamer : Do you have any online link or some more info about how do I proceed ahead with presenting my side?

    Once again, thanks all.

Surely your lease details what is provided in terms of parking?
If they won't reply to your email why not phone them?

Can you park the bike at the end of your car space?

Sorry for the delay in answering, I was busy with my new baby born 2 days ago :)

@macman : the lease details doesn't mention about motorcycles specifically. But let me take a double look. I had double confirmed with my agents on phone, and tripple confirmed in person, but they are not giving anything in writing. So nice of them!
@topdaddy : Yeah, there are roughly 62 spaces numbered. There is one motorcycle bay which can have 3 average sized motorcycles. And there's a place for cycle parking with those metal bars to lock the cycles. I am currently parking my motorcycle at the cycle parking place.
@mttylad : Nope, the car park space is just enough to park the car (I have a hatchback, but I see many long cars not really fitting inside the bay along the length).

The maintenance company is preparing for vehicle permits currently and I guess the process will be done in coming week.

    Congrats
    you probbably need some sleep.
if its a smallish bike then id squeeze it in the space with the car.
Id not be keen on spending 60quid a month for bike parking.
