United Utilities now reporting to CRAs

There's some bad news if United Utilities supply you with water. They are now reporting their "customers" to the Credit Reference Agencies - CRAs. ( I hesitate to use the word "customer" here, because your relationship with the Water Company is not that of a normal customer, as we understand it).

Please note that to carry out a credit check on you they must get your permission. If you are a customer and are concerned about this, have a think about how they might have got your permission, or are they carrying out the check regardless. If you're not concerned, then no problem. Well, there may be in the future if they post erroneous data against you, but hey, live and let live!
