HI, just purchased the phone from Tesco Direct and find the charger unit plug does not match our standard 13A socket so I cannot charge the battery!! Am I missing something here. The earth pin is spaced too close to the L and N pins.

My HTC charger fits perfectly:

I guess it's not a UK one or some counterfeit one made by some idiots that had mistaken the dimensions. If the latter, I wouldn't risk using it even with an adapter.
Was it boxed together with the phone?

Slide the earth pin upwards with your finger until it latches in to place.
