Never complained to the BBC before...

It must be the viewers who are getting more base so the programme makers are catering for them.0

I'm afraid to say that television has just about reached the bottom as far as good taste goes, not only this which sounds like an utter disgrace as I never saw it myself, but shows which revel in showing feces human and animal at any time of day. The BBC showed a good nature programme about tigers of course the trackers use the tigers feces to predict what the animal is eating and how long it has been since it passed the scene that is to be accepted however the camera pondering on the vision of tiger dung for two minutes for no apparent reason is beyond understanding. Also programmes about inconsiderate dog owners or nuisance neighbours where a dogs droppings are involved does the camera have to show us the droppings in their full detail after all I'm sure we have all witnessed the sight before and don't need to see it again? This has even shown up on Phil and Kirstie's property show, I know what dog poo looks like I don't need to see it at tea time! Disgusting bodies or whatever it's called, I don't watch it because I don't want to see peoples disgusting bodies however the programme makers are determine that I see them in the trailers of the show. Meal times in my house certain programmes are banned and that includes you've been framed yes they even manage to get snot, poo and sick into that for our entertainment!
I wish that they would show more educational programmes, perhaps then people would be able to spell "faeces".0 -
Feces is a perfectly acceptable alternative:
"The word faeces is the plural of the Latin word faex meaning "dregs". There is no singular form in the English language, making it a plurale tantum. There are many colloquial terms for feces...."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FecesI am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.0 -

People who live in the warzones don't want to see this sort of thing either - your suggestion that these images should be broadcast on TV just because people see them live is just ridiculous.
My SUGGESTION?! Talk about putting words into my mouth :rotfl: I didn't suggest anything... I have neither supported nor denounced showing dead bodies on TV, merely pointed out how (compared to people living in other countries) us Brits are mollycoddled seeing as the worst thing we have to complain about is a dead body on TV when people have it much worse around the world.0 -

I saw those pictures and wasn't shocked by the sight of a dead body.
I was shocked at the crass insensitivity and lack of respect for the families.0
