If the OP is saying that they arrived 6 minutes before time, and saw the back of the coach about 2 minutes down the road, and it's a route where there are no other coaches, I can understand how they've got to the 8 minutes amount.

But if that was the case, you'd maybe wait ten minutes after the scheduled time to be certain, not half an hour.

Was there anyone else at the stop? If NE can show other people recorded as getting on at that stop, that pretty much nails the lid on any chance in the small claims.

OP, what stop is it? Could you just have gone to the wrong pick up point?

Cell phone triangulation isn't very accurate at all, would be about 500-800ft of your position because it works with tower signal overlaps

GPS information is far more accurate, normally to within 2 or 3 square metres but I think the T&C's you agreed to to be there 10 minutes before departure will be the deciding factor.

Surely its no different to gate closing times at an airport?

Personally I wouldn't pursue this beyond complaining to National Express.

IMO at least being there 10 minutes early is not an unreasonable contractual term. I'm not convinced that a judge would consider it unreasonable either, especially if it's a stop in the middle of a journey.

But OP wants the compy check!

"Makes no difference if their T&Cs say turn up 10 minutes before" I don't believe that for one moment, the time on the ticket says 10.55 not 10.45. It would be reasonable to be there 10 minutes early but not a requirement of boarding pass.
If on the other hand the ticket said "departure 10.45 - 10.55" and I was one minute late then I would fully understand.
Anyway my cell phone tracking is enough to back up my case.

In theory, the bus could have been there when you turned up, but with closed doors and refusing to let you on before departing on time. But that would be silly.

The driver thought, everyone who is abiding to the terms of their ticket is already here, so what's the point in waiting, let's try and beat the traffic and get there 5 minutes early.

    You have no case.

But please, let us know what the courts say.
