no, not Broom, I have broom.

this one smells divine, It seems to have just finished flowering and although the leaves look long and slim now I think they are usually fern like. this is a bush tree about 8ft high

The leaves are often as helpful as the flowers when trying to identify a plant, maybe you should post a close-up of them.

Broom flowers are often scented and I would agree that it looks like broom - possibly Genista aetnensis or Genista lydia?
Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician.... :/
  • Hi,

If not broom then forsythia have the same colour flowers and grow quite large. I believe they can be scented too.
