Pranky has blogged, and it stinks:

Careful what you say folks, I'm sure MSE will not appreciate a libel case and we know what happened to the last person to libel a barrister on here!

Thanks to Prankster as well for highlighting this.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

The CPS acted properly in my opinion in not going forward, it is, after all my tax money which they are using. There are far more deserving matters on which to spend our taxes than a grubby little parking row, especially if the defendant has very deep pockets. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

I must slightly disagree in that it should have been looked at on merit. The phone call was on the lines of "Perverting the course of Justice" and its immaterial that it was only a parking company. Anyone trying to prevent justice should be stamped on hard.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

But there just is not the money, Chris Huhne and Vickie Pryce were prosecuted to the limit of the law for good reason, but what about the hundreds of thousands of others who swap points. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Are there hundreds of thousands caught each year?
This was a company, associated with the claiment, who lied to a court member to change things to suit his client. Beit a PPC or international financier makes no difference (in my eye's)
They spend thousands on persueing a burglar, catch him and give him a slap on the wrist or community service ,maybe they should not bother chasing burglars.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

I very much doubt it, that is not what I said.
This was a company, associated with the claiment, who lied to a court member to change things to suit his client. Beit a cheapskate PPC or international financier makes no difference (in my eye's)
Surely this is bordering on libel or contempt.
They spend thousands on persueing (sic) a burglar, catch him and give him a slap on the wrist or community service ,maybe they should not bother chasing burglars.
What the courts do is unconnected with the work of the CPSYou never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
I'll stop here, not because I think I'm wrong or right but its not helping matters.
Confused by the libel or contempt, if me I'll remove it.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
Indeed, it is always sensible to stop digging when you are in a hole. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Funny enough, I've just stopped digging a soakaway at home.:rotfl:I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
