Flightstats

Our Jet2 flight from Venice to Leeds on 30th May was delayed by 4 hours, I checked on flightstats which confirmed the times, and wrote to Jet2. They are now blaming a strike, rather than the real reason that the flight from Leeds was delayed due to a technical failure. I wanted to check times of the flight from Leeds so went back on Flightstats. Suddenly the data for our flight and the one before is "unknown", seems a bit suspect, then I notice at the top of the page advertising by Jet2 holidays, is this a coincidence?

was it related to this strike http://www.questor-insurance.co.uk/news-20140530-Strike-in-Italy-leads-to-flight-cancellations.aspx
there were a number of cancelled and delayed flights that day
The banner showing Jet2 is due to you having looked at Jet2 at some point....I see something related to my work that I had been looking at in the banner0 -
There was a ground staff strike, but this was not the main cause of the delay. We discussed it with cabin crew and they said there was a technical fault with the plane in leeds so they had to fly a different one from Manchester to leeds to pick up the passengers. As we were sat in Venice, we could see the flight hadn't even left leeds yet. I wanted to get the exact time the leeds flight landed in Venice so we could see how much time was attributed to the technical fault and how much could have been attributed to the strike. But these times seem to have been removed from flightstats.0

What you should bear in mind is that Jet2 have said you are not entitled to compensation so what is your next step? Whatever Flightstats indicated is never going to make Jet2 change their mind. So your next way to make them change their mind is possibly to take court action however Flightstats information is not recognised by the courts. As there is a difference of opinion re why your flight was delayed may be worth seeing if a no win no fee will take on - this will indicate if the strike or technical problem was to blame.0

I've just emailed the ECC who hopefully will give me advice on the matter.
If this doesn't work, I think we'll look at the no win - no fee option, thanks for the advice.0
