  • One of the most romantic things he did was send flowers out of the blue to my workplace because he knew I was fed up and unhappy there.

The card said "Keep smiling xxxx"

Ran away with me to marry, when it felt like the whole world was against us!
( That was 30 years ago tomorrow!!)

He's still my absolute best friend in the whole world & i still love him to bits!
30 years on he's still as romantic as ever. He regularly buys me massive bunches of flowers, even though he suffers with hay fever. :A
Oh, and he sat through Dirty Dancing in London on the night of our silver wedding, because I'd always wanted to see the stage show!
( I did go on the London Eye with him the next day, & I'm absolutely terrified of heights. I spent the whole time sitting on the bench staring at the floor, but he absolutely loved it, which made it all worthwhile:))
  • Drove 240 mile round trip to get me a cake from a particular place in Edinburgh that I loved.

Took me to see Priscilla Queen of the Desert stage show in the West End for my birthday even though he'd sat through the film with me and hated it and it was on the night of a World Cup game in 2010. He's a football nut.
