School Leaver Claiming CA

Daughter put in a claim for Carers Alowance after she left school & has just been awarded. School sent letter stating from 25.05.14 she was to attend for revision classes & exams only so that day was used as date to claim from. Last exam date (in June) was also put on form but the award letter states she can only claim from 20.07.14 (the Monday after English schools break up for the summer). It says we can ask for a recon but was wondering if this was normal & no one can claim till that school year officially ends. Just seems strange as she has never even set foot in the school for over a month now.
Thanks

She may be still classed as a student until that date. Best check with the school if you can.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

You can check with these people.
From what I've read she is still officially classed as a student even though she may be 'on holiday' and therefore not eligible for CA until the end of the school term.0 -

I thought you had to stay at school until 18 now. therefore you won't be able to get ca in holidays as child benefit and child tax credit will still be payable.0

A levels or Btec depending on results, also looking at apprenticeships.0
