I use a mobile phone for texts only as I'm deaf, PAYG because I probably only do about 20-30 texts a week (I'm on Tesco Lite so only 4p a text). Don't need internet access, my laptop is fine for that.
My current phone is an LG KS360 and I do actually love it, but it has a couple of things that really annoy me - the screen is impossible to read in sunlight so can't often use it in the car or outside, and there is no way of downloading any texts I want to save to the laptop.
Can anyone suggest a phone that would solve those two problems and also have the things I like about the KS360?
Those are:
small
simple to use
slide out QWERTY keyboard
surprisingly good camera (I use it for all my eBay pics, but again, problem using it outside as cannot see the screen if in the sun so I just have to point and shoot and hope for the best!)
cheap(ish)
Many thanks for any suggestions

Have you checked CPW?

Thanks for posting. Yes, I did check Carphone Warehouse before I posted, I also searched on Google and eBay. The problem is that the things I need to know, eg about a screen I can read in sunlight, and the ability to download texts, are not mentioned in specs and I have to do google searches for each individual phone I come across, which is why I was looking for personal recommendations.
From previous searches I get the impression that none of the LG phones support text download, at least, probably not the ones I can afford!I want my sun-drenched, wind-swept Ingrid Bergman kiss, Not in the next life, I want it in this, I want it in this

4p per text is expensive.
Have you considered Three's 3 2 1 PAYG, texts are only 2p?0 -

If you mean copy them to your computer, that will be down to whatever software you use to communicate with the phone.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it0 -

Sorry, wasn't sure how to word it, obviously I did it badly! I've searched everywhere for the appropriate software to download from my LG, and also had a long conversation in live chat with an LG technician, and it just can't be done. Photos, no problem, but texts, no. We did find software for my brother's LG but not my model, and his LG doesn't have the qwerty keyboard so no use to me.I want my sun-drenched, wind-swept Ingrid Bergman kiss, Not in the next life, I want it in this, I want it in this

Phones with a second e-ink screen (like Kindle) will come sooner or later, but they won't be cheap and are extremely unlikely to have a QWERTY keyboard.and the ability to download texts, are not mentioned in specs and I have to do google searches for each individual phone I come across, which is why I was looking for personal recommendations.

You are unlikely to find a modern phone that satisfies this requirement.

For the above LG from Amazon see http://www.lg.com/uk/support-mobile/lg-GT350#, p.49-50
I did download LG PC Suite about a year ago, it worked for my brother's phone (can't remember what model he has) but not for mine. I think that was when I had the live chat with an LG technician. Not sure if this is a newer version.
I am already able to drag and drop photos just using the USB cable, never had a problem with that.
Re the screen, I take your point about e-ink, but most of my friends seem to be able to see their screens in sunlight better than me - the other day I was in the car and ended up practically crawling under the dashboard and still couldn't read the text I'd just received! Are some screens less reflective than others?I want my sun-drenched, wind-swept Ingrid Bergman kiss, Not in the next life, I want it in this, I want it in this

You don't need PC suit to drag and drop files.
Re the screen, are you sure that your screen brightness is set to maximum?0
