vodafone overseas charge?
Just received my bill from voda for june-includes £7.44 additional call charges over and above monthly allowance even though my monthly allowance of minutes was not fully used.
I suspect this may be a charge for receiving calls when i was in usa early june. However I did not use my phone in USA except for receipt of texts which are free. I did not receive any calls while in USA as I had my phone switched off except for picking up texts.
Will I have been charged for listening to voicemail on my return to UK? as this does not seem right. How can I avoid this in the future?
Thank you

i read somewhere that because you turned your phone on in the US, even tho u haven't picked up any voicemail you still get charged for calls 'receieved' because you were roaming. the way to avoid this is not turning on your phone in other countries.0

Hi Philng
If youleft your voicemail on when you abroad and people have left messages, there will be a charge for that as it counts as an incoming roaming call (even when your phone is switched off).
The only way to avoid it is to deactivate your voicemail before you go abroad.0
