Hi
I'm looking for info. regarding Fresh Start Finance, or possibly Fresh Start Financial Services. My son is considering using them, and I'm really worried that he hasn't done his research! Any advise or info. please? Thanks.

Definitely one to avoid. Apart from the fact they charge fees and apparently harass you endlessly once they have your phone number, your son isn't likely to get good advice from them.

Their website says this about bankruptcy "Voluntary bankruptcy is where we file a bankruptcy petition at the County Court on your behalf, and it’s up to the district judge to decide whether or not to grant the bankruptcy." which to my mind is extremely misleading. Lots of people worry that they won't be allowed to go bankrupt, that the judge will say they should just pay back the money. But bankruptcy petitions are only rejected for a very limited number of technical reasons. This company is preying on people's fears to try to make them choose a DMP or IVA where they will make lots of money.

Of course if your son does need an IVA some firm will earn money from it. But the point is that he should initially get adviced which is unbiased by this and which looks at his best interests.

    visit www.iva.com

They list a LOT of firms and carry a lot of reviews on them that are written by their clients. WHat you son is best doing is picking 2 or 3 and talk to them ALL before deciding what to do

I have just made my final repayment on my IVA, and I found my company from this website, and I must say that I have been nothing but impressed with their level of service. If you would like the name I am happy to recommend them. That will at least be 1 off the list of 2 or 3

Just drop me a p.m. if you do
