Maldives - which island?

Looking at getting married next year and I quite like the idea of going to the Maldives for our honeymoon. We were thinking of spending one week somewhere else (to be decided) and one week in the Maldives.
A look on google suggests there's over 100 island resorts. So how do we go about choosing one?

What is your budget?0

I was hoping for a two week honeymoon with say one week in dubai and one week in maldives. Total budget would be £5000.
Things I'd want:
- all inclusive
- buffet style food (dietary restrictions)
- would like a beach villa
- be able to go for walks around the island (ie needs to be large enough)
- activities and stuff to do might be nice. I'm content to lie on the beach all day for a week.0 -
Meeru.

We went to Royal Island which was lovely
too many comps..not enough time!0 -

Not worth going AI or FB, we went HB and paid for everything else separately - still less than that. Booked flights with emirates to Dubai and then Male. You can book direct with the resort and that will include the sea plane transfer I think.
think we paid about £3k for 10 days but it was June.

looking for a Maldives holiday in Spring next year
April is our Wedding Anniversary (23 yr) and my birthday same week
This kind of beach holiday is definitely not our norm.
Got £10K ish to spend, for two weeks, top buget being highest class water villas but ideally would be more like £7K but the room experience is important (relative privacy, access to beach etc)
What is best time to travel (say Mar-~Jun) and any recommendations on good resorts (4-5 star, with focus on room qualities and secondly food choice)
Any personal recommendations are appreciated0 -
Got to be kuredu island in the Maldives. There are loads of people I've talked with who have tried other islands but always return to kuredu. The staff are amazing there, excellent food in the buffet restaurants, it's just had a refurb with new bar and pools, one of the best dive reefs in the Maldives too! We are going back in a few weeks and staying in a beach villa, there are jacuzzi villas, beach bungalows, on stilts villas on the ocean and even villas with their own pool now. Can't recommend it enough!
