Can I port my number to this phones4u Vodafone Samsung D900i?

Hi folks,
This looks a great offer http://www.phones4u.co.uk/shop/shop_contract_details.asp?ItemKey=167751&MPItemKey=168014
(Samsung D900i full cashback + quidco!)
However, I need to port an Orange PAYG number to it and want to make absolutely sure that porting to Vodafone after purchase will not mess up cashback.
I had a similar O2 deal with The Link this year which worked no problem but would appreciate if anyone could confirm that this is OK with Phones4U.
Ta!

    Hi Robonabike

With Vodafone, you can only port a number in a the point of connection (ie - when you take a deal).

You'll need to check with P4U whether you can port a number when you take the deal, as you won't be able to once the account is running

I'm pretty sure that you can't port your number to Vodafone if you purchase through Phones4u

It doesn't say clearance anywhere, so I assume it's new.
Can't really understand why vfone won't port after account starts, they surely must lose custom for this?

    you can port your number

Get the pac i think it asks u for the pac...during a part of buying the contract i think

Anyway it will take 5 days to transfer over and they phones delivery will be delayed due to this....If they send out the phone without the phone being connected you can cancel the PAC an it wont go through this would mean the contracts void so they delay the postage to prevent this

    The website says the following
"We currently only support number porting when transferring to T-mobile, Orange, Three, Virgin and BT Mobile, but not Vodafone or O2."
I called Vodafone who said they would not port over once the contract had started. All seems a bit strange to me as it surely puts people off from going to Vodafone.
As I am looking for a phone for SO, who only calls about 5 different numbers, will probably go ahead anyway.
