We sent our application in on Wednesday and the valuation was completed yesterday, so far so good. Hope yours goes through quickly.

Do Halifax ask for 3months bank statements guys? And are mortgage applications ever declined on these? Over thinking every possible scenario :-/

Halifax didn't seem that interested in bank statements, they just wanted one payslip from each of us!

Thank you very much. Hopefully ours won't be long. Our broker required my partner's SA302 form for our application (he is self employed), so just waiting on that to arrive now... Should be Monday...

  • Hi everyone

Do broker's have the ability to 'hurry things through' a little with Halifax?

    Thanks,

Holiday Haggler I've been Money Tipped!
Are you buying new build? Is it the HTB Equity Loan scheme? I thought Halifax were no longer working through brokers on this scheme?

I would say brokers not only have the ability to ensure things progress as quickly as possible, but also have the ability to speak to the underwriters directly to help explain any sticky situations etc, often without their customers even knowing there was a problem!

We have just got our Halifax offer, on a new build HTB (equity loan) scheme, through a broker.

Thank you! Hopefully it won't take too long. Hate this process!!!

  • Hoping our valuation is instructed this week... Our broker sent off our application to Halifax on Friday.

Will now be worrying about the valuation, it is such a stressful process! Hoping all will be ok as the property was valued at £220k on previous house sale (which fell through, to our benefit!) and we are paying £199k (FTB).

We have had a level 3 builders survey and the surveyor believed it to be worth the value, but you never know... Eeeek! Such a nerve-wracking process.

Anyone experiencing this at present with Halifax?

    GG:)
