Tescos 'SPECIAL' offers - not so 'special'

Popped into Tesco supermarket this afternoon and purchased 2 x 6 cans of Diet Coke (2 for £3) and then some Oldelpasso nachos for £2.00.
2 hours later had to take the sister to Morrisons and found the that i could have got the Diet Cokes for £2.45 (55p more at tesco) and the nachos for £1.40 (60p more at tescos) - saving £1.05.
Tesco's are taking the mickey here. I advise anyone who likes 'special offers' to http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk to check out just how 'special' tescos offers are! - I hope Morrisons get on mysupermarket.com soon!

So when are you actually planning to stop going to Tescos as you hate them so much?0 -
I think it is a case of you pays your money and you takes your chance.
Having said that, yesterday I put on the armour to battle the crowds at Tescos ... I noticed this big bright yellow price tag saying "2 for £3" ... "gosh" I thought (I am a man of few words sometimes) ... I then looked at the price label which said the original price was £1.51
IvanI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -
Supermarket in "not always the cheapest on every item" shocker. Hold the front page, this story will run and run.
Some goods are cheapest in Tesco, some aren't.0 -
You also have to take into account when shopping how much your time is worth. If you go from supermarket to supermarket buying the specials you have increased travel costs and you waste a lot of your time. Sometimes I know I'm paying more than I need to but it's convenient and probably cheaper than getting back in my car and driving another few miles out of my way.

Hey, come on guys, I think the OP was just making an inocent comment here, dont be too hard!
Its just one of those 'sods law' things, both items he bought just happened to be cheaper in another shop at the same time.
We all know different stuff is different prices at different times and places, thats business for you!
Some of us are more experienced and more cynical than others, lets be nice:A0 -
