Is the senario below eligable for compensation?

My flight from Ecuador to Miami was delayed 12.5hours due to technical problems with the plane, which resulted in us missing our connection flight from Miami to London and having to wait another 10 hours in Miami.

Overall journey delay was 24 hours.

Would this be eligible for compensation?

Thanks,
Jamie

EU compensation payments only apply to EU airlines on return flights to the UK and I would assume the flight to Miami was either American Airlines or LAN, neither of which are EU airlines. Your actual flight from Miami wasn't delayed, you just weren't there to board it.
