Sky price increase - can I cancel

I think I can, although the letter is ambiguous about it.

The enclosed leaflet contains some vague blurb about a cancellation clause [no direct relevance] but the final line states "this change comes into effect 31 days from receipt of this notice". Implying that you can cancel?

    How convenient:

If I choose "cancel" for live chat all operators are busy, if I choose "join or upgrade" you get through to live chat.... !!
  • How long is the contract, and how far are you into it.

Contract ends next year. I think may be March but could be later.

It's seriously annoying the way they dress up the price rise and ambiguous about the way they do it.

Incidentally who is the regulator to whom one can complain or is there an ombudsman?

They are obliged to give you that amount of notice whether you can cancel or not, so is no indication

What do the Ts & Cs in your contract say about price increases? Usually there is a specific %age increase quoted within a specific period.

There is no point complaining to the regulator about a price increase!

It's up to 10%. This current price increase works out about 5.5% depending on ones package (which includes the 11.4% increase for Sky Sports).
