Morning all
Meanmarie - good luck drinking the "stuff" and with tomorrow's scan
Candlelight - good luck for you too with mammogram this afternoon
Fingers crossed for you both xx
Dumpling - I'm glad you managed a nice day out, your poor DD with her pasta - very grim!!
I woke up feeling hot at 4am and heard it suddenly start to gently rain...for about 15 seconds! Went on the computer for a bit then managed to get back to sleep.I must get the fan down for tonight!
Off to shopping centre in a mo to get some tweezers as mine have gone walkabout, also some new knickers as I think I could go down a size :T woohoo!!
I think I will pinch someone's else's suggestion for dinner and do cold meats and salad.
Tru - my peppers need telling off to, they're letting the side down!
Have a lovely day all, hugs to everyone who needs them. Stay in the shade ladies! Xx0 -
Good morning everyone
I am sitting here on my desktop by the window with a pint of tap water and dash of orange squash.
Looking at the glass, I like this one with the handle, it seems easier to hold than a pint glass you have to grasp all the way around.
Ek! the things we consider?
Our son came to visit yesterday and gave up some lovely gifts.
Port for him indoors and white Chrysanthemums for me.
These flowers are believed to bring happiness and laughter into our home. ( I looked it up ).A November birth flower for a Scorpio like me!
Chrysanthemums contain a chemical which naturally repels bugs (did not know that?) I always thought white flowers were peaceful.
The lovely vase is in my kitchen at the moment, likely to be moved when I am going to bake HM pizza for dinner tonight.
I have had an email from Savvy inviting me to put my name down for a new test. Does not mean I get on the test though.Given the questionnaire my best :0?.
The trial is for Lenor extra scent in the washing machine. You still have to use your washing gel, fabric conditioner and then the trial tiny scent balls for added perfume.
What will these companies think up next?
I have a letter to post so am going to walk the dog.
Gets us both out.
Have a positive dayThe secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
Morning all
Last day of peace as the kids break up today
It is a lovely warm day not too hot so the washing machine is on the go. We had rain last night and that has cooled things down a bit. We have booked a few days away in August so I really need to save some money by using up the freezer contents. I've had a rummage round and tonight's dinner is chicken drumsticks with noodles if the chicken will defrost on time. I've put them in some cold water to help the defrosting along.
I'm going to sort out the shoe cupboard and the coat rack shortly, both of which are a complete mess as shoes get thrown in and coats thrown over each other. It really needs a good sort out - and some air fresh in there thanks to OH's smelly feet :pale:
I don't know how we're going to get through the next six weeks as money is tight and, apart from the few days away, the kids can't have what they have had the previous summer holidays.
Hope everyone has a good day2016 Grocery Challenge January: £296.20/£300 February: £262.05/£3000 -
Afternoon all,
Positive vibes for those undergoing tests/waiting results xx
Still feeling a bit yucky and heard DS1 dash to the bathroom during the night (sorry tmi) so we've all had the bug now_pale_.
Spent all morning doing house move things, change of address etc but may go in the garden as it's lovely out.Hanging on the phone waiting to be answered for over 20 mins for the energy co. good thing it was free.
The garden here seems to have a lot of bindweed.A lot of it is paved at the back, apart from 1 bed,and a rockery at the front.
I'll get some more washing out too.
Not sure what's for tea as no one feels like eating much so thats :money:
Enjoy your day xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Afternoon everyone
Have just been reading back some of the posts from yesterday regarding ops having problems with housing benefits and council tax support. Your local council (who pay your housing bens) should have a Discretionary Housing Payment scheme - when the government reduced the amounts of benefits they were prepared to pay this fund was set up. You may qualify, it would be worth asking. HTH.
kind regards

On the rare occasions we visit the pub, if I'm having ale, I prefer it in a mug rather than a straight glass; much easier to pick up and hold, imho.:o
I don't much care for this heat - it's too much. The dogs are wilting a bit, too. I have the patio door open, so they can wander in and out as they please, but I have to ensure they don't sit out in the full sun. They're pretty good though, finding the coolest places for themselves.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon all,
wow its hot!
Was out this morning. Hubby needed some new shorts to show off his sexy surgical stockings. He's melting in the heat.
My Grandson came to me for his afternoon nap whilst his Mummy went and did other things but it took him ages to go off and I don't think he will be sleeping his usual 2 hours as he is restless which means he will be grumpy when he wakes up.
I'm ok, could do with some time to myself, I am missing my own space but I cant see that happening any time soon. I don't think hubby is planning to go back to work until his savings run out.
Lamb shanks for tea tonight.... Well that's the plan anyway.
Onwards and forwards,
