Ring the service department back, and ask what registration the car is that is due for a service. Then ring the dvla to query the v5c details.

Maybe the family member is just having a laugh to annoy you.

Or phone them up and ask when can you collect your £30,000 car ;-)

Well you said they own the house, so maybe the details they have given are for the house. Alternatively, they've registered it at your address for some reason (presumably a tax/comission thing).

When they phone, ask for the details of the car they have on file, and point out that they are incorrect. If you felt suitably inclined you could try contacting VOSA to find out if a vehicle is registered to you.

I think answering the phone would have helped this situation... don't you?
  • Isnt the OP concerned, perhaps rightly that they will have points accumulating on 'their' provisional licence? or PCNs for parking?

I thing calling the DVLA is a good start, just to explain that you've had a phone call about a vehicle you believe registered in the wrong name and address - give them your details, they'll atleast look into it

Apart form the fact VOSA doesn't exist anymore what's it got to do with them? DVLA hold keeper records.

I'd be with Worried_jim and assume they had the wrong number. If they ring again answer the phone see if they ask for you by name, if they do ask for the address they have on file, if neither matches the chances are they simply have the wrong telephone number.

No need to make a conspiracy where there isn't one.
