Has Someone Registered Car In My Name
Hi, I hoping someone out there can help me.
First of all I don't drive, have never taken a driving lesson and certainly never owned a car of any sort, well that's what I thought.
Basically I kept getting missed calls from the same number. I didn't think anything of it, I put it down to a wrong number. After a week and a few missed calls later they left a message. Basically saying my name, mentioned my address and that my Land Rover was due it's MOT and could I bring my car in. Of course this surprised me.
I called the number back, but they were closed and then realized the name of the Dealership in their answer phone message. A family member basically is the manager/ Director. Plus the house I live in they own. There is no reason for the Car Dealership they work at to have all my details for any reason at all and they believe I own a Car.
This Family member and I don't particularly like each other at all. I thought about phoning the Dealership but he would deny it, say it never happened. I obviously don't know any vehicle registration either to the Car that is ment to be mine.
My big problem here is that this family member is the manager/ Director. If this wasn't the case I might have put this down to a mistake, but I can't.
I don't know what's going on, but I know it's not a coincidence when he's involved. I just want to know about this Land Rover that's ment to be mine? But I have no vehicle Registration to check if a Car has been registered in my name? Is there anyway of finding out?

Hi,
All I ment is that is doesn't take a genius to work out something is not right. Meaning I don't drive, don't own a car, yet they have my details and my family member is the Manager0 -
Can't you just put it in the recycle bin with all the other junk mail?0

That's just it. I don't know what is going on.
I don't drive. Or have a car. Yet they keep calling me to bring my Land Rover in for its MOT? So they think I own a Car, or have some information in front of them that suggests I own a car?
It's not normal0 -
Explain to them you don't own a car. If they ring after that just let them book it in. Then when they ring and say you didn't turn up you can ask why you would turn up when you don't have a car. They'll soon get fed up with wasting slots.0

Thanks for your replies.
For me here it's the fact this family member is the manager. This is what is very strange and it bothering me. otherwise I actually wouldn't even bother with this at all and put it down to a mistake etc0 -
Check your credit files to make sure he hasn't been up to anything dodgy.0

Has the car been registered in your name? Or just they've phone you about a service?
Answer the phone next time and correct them. It may well be an error0 -
Paranoia. The garage have just got a wrong number.0
